American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVOR RN for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery experience and mandatory call coverage.

Details

• Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Common cases include cardiac surgery (CABG, valve repair/replacement, ECMO, transplant), thoracic surgery (VATS, lung resection, esophagostomy, POEM), and vascular surgery (angiography, endarterectomy, AAA repair, amputations)
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Day and evening shifts, with flexibility based on clinician preference
• 40 guaranteed hours per week
• Charge nurse present in the OR each day
• Mandatory call required: one night per week and one weekend per month with a 30-minute response time
• On-call housing available when needed
• May float within other Berkeley OR services
• Holiday call coverage required as needed
• 1 week of unit orientation, with initial onboarding at Ruby Memorial before transitioning to Berkeley Medical Center

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license
• BLS certification (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Must have experience in Cardiac, Thoracic, or Vascular surgery
• Strong, established experience required; travel experience preferred
• New graduates and first-time travelers will not be considered

Additional Information

• Ceil blue surgical scrubs provided by the hospital
• Open to 13-week or longer contracts, with potential for direct hire or permanent opportunities
• Radius rule: candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as travelers
• Travelers who previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying
• Cumulative traveler assignments within WVU cannot exceed one year without a 2-year break
• All candidates interview directly with the unit manager
