Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift surgical unit requiring compact/KY RN license and 2 years of acute inpatient experience.

Details

• Work in a 28-bed specialty surgical unit caring for post-operative urological and gynecological patients
• Patient ratio of 5-6:1
• Uses Epic EMR
• RN reads telemetry but does not perform titration
• Skills used include trach care, dialysis, PCA, feeding tubes, and wound vac management
• Night shift schedule from 6:45pm to 7:15am, three days per week, 36 hours weekly
• Every other weekend required

Requirements

• Active RN license (KY or Compact) required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required

Additional Information

• Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation for a group of patients
• Provides patient and family education throughout stay and at discharge
• Mentors and precepts staff while delegating tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel
• Participates in quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives
• Complies with regulatory standards and unit practice governance model
• Follows a patient and family-centered model of care
