American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 20-bed telemetry unit specializing in post-op cardiac and CHF patients, requiring a KY or compact RN license.

Details

• Work on a 20-bed telemetry unit specializing in post-op CABG, post-op cardiac surgery, CHF, and moderate risk chest pain patients
• Care for patients with multiple co-morbidities and complex care needs transferred from ICU, ED, and PACU
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• Required to work weekends and holidays per department needs

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact) required
• BLS certification required
• Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
• NIHSS certification required within 3 months of start
• ACLS certification required within 12 months of start
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience is preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including comprehensive assessments, treatment implementation, and care coordination
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and coordination with case management
• Delegate and oversee patient care tasks performed by other team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as monitoring patient falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTIs
• Collaborate closely with an inter-professional care team to develop and prioritize patient care plans
