American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position at a Level 1 Trauma academic medical center, requiring NC or compact RN licensure and prior cath lab experience.

Details

• Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory setting within an 885-bed Level 1 Trauma academic medical center
• Averages 20-25 patients per day across 5 procedure rooms
• Patient population includes Cardiac Caths, Impella, Watchman, TAVR, ECMO, Clips, and pediatric cases (as young as days old, PFO etc)
• RN role includes sedation, circulating, and monitoring with responsibility for medication administration
• Scrubbing cases is a bonus but not required at this time
• EMR systems used include Epic, Cupid, and Sensis
• Equipment includes Siemens x-ray systems
• 8-hour day shift schedule, 0730-1630, 40 hours per week
• No floating required
• On-call required 1 day per week (1630-0730) and every 5th weekend (Fri 1630-Mon 0730)
• Weekend rotation limited to call only

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required, 2 years preferred
• Minimum 12 months of core work experience in cath lab specialty, with most recent experience within the last year
• 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
• Epic EMR experience required

• Support team includes an Assistant Clinical Manager, 10 physicians, RRTs, RTs, and an Anesthesia/CRNA team
• Standard Medical Center orientation plus 2 weeks or less of unit-specific orientation

• Department culture emphasizes patient safety first
• Fill-in coverage required for holidays as needed while on call
• First-time travelers accepted but not preferred
• Candidates must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
• 50-mile radius rule applies; local candidates not accepted
• Clinical interview required with the manager conducting the final interview
