American Traveler is hiring a Nursing Director for Residential Living in a long-term care setting, requiring a BSN, current RN license, and prior nursing management experience.

Details

• Long-term care unit providing skilled nursing and short-term transitional care
• Day shift schedule, ideally Monday through Friday 8am-5pm with some flexibility
• 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week
• Requires availability to work the floor and provide on-call/after-hours coverage
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact) in the state of practice, with compact licenses required to transfer within 60 days of hire
• BLS certification required, must not expire prior to start date
• BSN from an accredited institution required
• Three years of management experience required
• Two years of clinical experience required
• One year of experience in the specialty being submitted for required
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and financial acumen skills required
• Experience in resource management, patient safety, mentorship, and community outreach required
• DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides leadership and operational direction for the Residential Living long-term care community
• Partners with the Chief Nursing Officer and other leadership to ensure optimal patient care and financial goals
• Manages annual capital, operating, and personnel budgets for the unit
• Oversees staffing, hiring, orientation, retention, and employee satisfaction
• Monitors patient satisfaction metrics and implements action plans to improve outcomes
• Partners with physicians to achieve clinical, operational, and service goals
• Ensures compliance with patient safety initiatives and regulatory standards such as Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, and DOPL
• Evaluates staff competency through performance and peer reviews
• Serves as a role model for professionalism and employee engagement
• Direct reports included as part of this leadership role
