American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - Operating Room professional for a Level II trauma center with 24+ months of OR experience and DaVinci robotics case experience required.

Details

• Level I/II trauma hospital OR setting with 16 operating suites, routinely running 12-14 rooms
• 1:1 patient ratio with average caseload of 35-50 cases per day
• Turnover time expectation of less than 20 minutes
• Specialized equipment includes 3 DaVinci robots, Stealth Neuro navigation technology, and Synthes/Stryker ortho trauma systems
• Service lines include Cardiac/PV, Neuro, ortho trauma, robotics, GYN, uro, general, pediatrics, transplants, ENT, and plastics
• Scrub and circulate duties both preferred
• Epic EMR used
• Day shift schedule: Mon-Fri, 3x12s, 6:30a-7p, 36 hrs/week
• Weekend call required up to 3 weekends per 13-week contract, from end of shift Friday until 6:30am Monday
• On-call up to 1 overnight per week
• Floating required across multiple campuses (Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, Iowa Methodist)
• Scrubs provided

Requirements

• Active RN license - Iowa or Compact/Multistate required at time of submission
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Minimum 24 months of current operating room experience required, hospital/medical center experience prioritized
• Circulating experience required; scrub experience highly preferred
• Required case experience: General, DaVinci Robotics, Pediatrics, and Trauma
• Highly preferred case experience: Neurology, orthopedics (primarily trauma), gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, ENT, and vascular
• Epic EMR experience within the previous 3 years required
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience highly preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the last 24 months preferred

Additional Information

• Circulate and/or scrub for a high-volume, high-acuity trauma OR handling complex robotic, trauma, pediatric, and general surgical cases
• Holiday rotation required, including coverage for 1-2 of the 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
• Winter holiday coverage requires working 2 of 3 holidays (Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving)
• First-time travelers will not be considered; candidates must have completed a travel assignment within the previous 15 months
• Candidates previously employed by the facility within the past 12 months may be ineligible for submission
