American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Step Down unit position requiring a CA license, BSN, and at least 2 years of telemetry/stepdown experience.

Details

• Work in the Step Down unit of a teaching hospital
• 12-hour variable shifts, including Day (7:00-19:30) and Night (19:00-7:30) options, 3x12 schedule
• Must be able to float to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BSN required
• AHA BLS certification required
• ACLS and PCCN certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required, stepdown ICU/TCU/PCU experience preferred over med/surg telemetry
• CIWA and EKG course or cardiac rhythm recognition experience required
• Tracheostomy care expertise required
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide care to stepdown patients including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response coordination
• Skills such as arterial line management, central and peripheral line care, chest tube management, and IV insulin protocols may be utilized
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed, including dates worked, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed and approved by the manager at time of offer; no additional RTO requests accepted mid-contract, and no RTO allowed within the first two weeks of the assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
• Travel pairs allowed but generally not placed on the same unit; married couples may not work together on the same unit
