American Traveler is hiring a night-shift RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

• Emergency Department setting within a Level 1 Trauma hospital
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• No block scheduling permitted
• On-call requirement: 2 call shifts per 6-week schedule period, 13 hours each, with expectation to be onsite within one hour
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage on a rotation basis
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification through the American Heart Association
• Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Epic charting experience required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity ED setting, including assessment, care planning, and implementation of nursing interventions
• Collaborate with providers, patients, and families to develop and modify individualized care plans
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient documentation
• Support staff and patient safety through hazard identification and reporting
• Offer constructive feedback to peers to support professional development
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days within the 13-week contract
• Candidates with prior continuous assignments exceeding 1 year at this health system must have completed a 6-month break in service before returning
