American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring an active NY RN license and current NIHSS certification.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within an acute care teaching hospital
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7p-7a
• Patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:7
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required if needed
• Floating required within skillset
• EPIC EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active New York Single State RN license required (NY is not compact); pending licenses not accepted
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
• Must have worked in acute care within the past 6 months
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills, including dysrhythmia interpretation/management and Rapid Response/Code team activation
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills, including peripheral line care and management
• Experience with nasal cannula, oxygen administration/tanks, and non-invasive airway management
• Isolation precautions experience required

Additional Information

• Assigned unit within Med/Surg Tele will be confirmed at time of offer
• Scrubs must be navy blue and/or white in any combination
• Facility may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract without incurring charges
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RNs must live outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be considered; LPNs may be local
• Hospital is Magnet-recognized and an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center
