American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital requiring Level I trauma and telemetry experience plus pre/post cath lab and IR procedure experience.

Details

• PACU unit within an inpatient setting at a Level I Trauma, teaching, children's hospital
• Day shift, 4x12 hours, 6:00-18:30
• 1:2 patient ratio in PACU
• Floating to PACU Holding area required, where ratios can be 1:3-5 for patients equivalent to inpatient PCU acuity
• On-call required, approximately 1-2 overnight call shifts monthly on a 4-week schedule
• One weekend shift required per month
• Must work 2 of 3 holiday bundles (Thanksgiving/day after, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Black scrubs required
• 18-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (RQI certifications not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of PACU RN experience required
• Level I trauma experience required (Level II trauma experience not accepted)
• Telemetry experience required
• Pre/post cath lab procedure experience required
• Pre/post IR procedure experience required
• Willingness to perform pre-op care required
• Pending license accepted

Additional Information

• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care including respiratory care, ventilated patient care, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia recognition and management
• Care for pre/post cath lab and pre/post IR patients as well as pre/post operative patients
• Limited to no pediatric experience is acceptable
• Previous charge experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted upon client screening
• No local candidates within 100 miles of the facility
• Requests for RTO greater than 7 days require approval
• Block scheduling is not accommodated
