Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVOR RN for a 26-week assignment at a large academic teaching hospital, requiring recent cardiovascular/open heart OR experience and a VT or compact RN license.

Details

• OR department at a large, academic teaching hospital
• 12-hour rotating day/evening shifts (0645-1915)
• 36 hours per week over a 26-week assignment
• One to two weekday on-call shifts (1900-0715), usually only one unless short-staffed
• One full weekend of call required every 5 weeks
• May be required to float to other OR suites (General, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, etc), circulating only if floated
• Monday to Sunday work week with no block schedules
• Bi-weekly orientations held on Mondays

Requirements

• Active VT or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; CNOR preferred
• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
• Recent experience and high competency in Cardiovascular/Open Heart OR required
• Large, academic, teaching hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required
• Must be able to scrub hearts
• Must be flexible with schedule to meet unit and patient care needs

Additional Information

• Provide circulating and scrub support for cardiovascular/open heart surgical cases
• Reliable personal transportation strongly recommended, as public transportation is not accessible in the area
• Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November through April
• Accepts local candidates within a 50-mile radius
• Radius-based pay tiers apply, measured by direct line distance: Local (50 miles or less), Radius (51-100 miles), Travel (over 101 miles)
