American Traveler is hiring a Neuro ICU RN with a CA license and at least 2 years of Neuro ICU experience for a 13-week travel assignment.

Details

• Neuro Intensive Care Unit setting within a Trauma Level II facility
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• May float to ED, Step Down Unit, or Central Monitoring Department
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required and must be in hand prior to consideration
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• TNCC certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• At least 1 year of Neuro ICU experience required, reflected on application
• Prior travel nurse experience required
• Charge nurse, teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skills in EVD, ICP monitoring, hypothermia protocol, lumbar drains, post neurosurgery management, and traumatic brain injury care required
• Experience with arterial line management, central/PICC line care, ventilator management, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips required
• 2 professional references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to complex neurological and neurosurgical patients, including CVA/acute stroke, TBI, and spinal cord injury cases
• Manage patients requiring advanced respiratory support such as ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula
• Administer continuous IV sedation, paralytics, and vasoactive medications with close monitoring
• Support patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and renal failure
• Accepts local candidates within a 50-mile radius at a local rate
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
