American Traveler is hiring an RN for a NICU Level II position requiring NRP and STABLE certifications along with prior travel experience.

Details

• Level II NICU/Special Care Nursery setting
• Patient population includes neonates less than 24-28 weeks, 29-34 weeks, and greater than 34 weeks
• 1:3 patient ratio
• 3x12 Day shift, 0700-1900
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Required to float to Postpartum and Labor & Delivery for neonatal care
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Uses ventilation systems for High-Flow O2, CPAP, and Mechanical Ventilation
• Uses Point of Care Blood Glucose Measurement and BD Alaris Smart Pumps

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or MD) required
• Current BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of NICU II experience required
• CPAP experience required
• At least 1 completed travel assignment required
• Proficient in respiratory support via High Flow O2, CPAP, Bubble CPAP, and Mechanical Ventilation
• Proficient in central line management, peripheral IV insertions, lab draws, and IV antibiotic administration
• Experience stabilizing newborns less than 32 weeks and preparing for transport to a Level III facility
• Skilled in thermoregulation and passive cooling for pre-term and full-term infants
• Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with minimum 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms

Additional Information

• Responsible for monitoring and maintaining cardiopulmonary, neurologic, metabolic, and thermal stability of neonates
• Assists with specialized procedures such as lumbar puncture and endotracheal resuscitation for newborns 32 weeks or greater
• Initiates, modifies, or stops treatment per established protocols or physician orders
• Flu vaccine required for all employees at this facility
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
• Previous MedStar employees must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days per 13-week contract
