American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a nights position requiring 3+ years of Stepdown experience and a WV or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute care Stepdown/Med-Surg unit with 20 beds
• Stepdown ratio of 1:3 and floor ratio of 1:5-6
• Patient population includes respiratory issues, weakness, UTI, AKI, and chest pain
• Telemetry monitored unit with monitor techs; RNs read strips
• RNs required to titrate drips including Heparin, insulin, Cardizem, and amiodarone
• RT equipment used includes CPAP, BiPap, and high flow
• Nursing aide support available at 2 per shift
• Unit supported by a House Supervisor rather than a Charge Nurse
• Uses EPIC EMR
• 12-hour night shifts with 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Holiday coverage rotates between evening and day shifts
• No on-call or standby requirement
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
• Prior Stepdown unit experience required
• BSN not required
• Unexpired driver's license copy required for consideration
• Any licensing hits must be disclosed at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Stepdown/Med-Surg unit including drip titration and monitoring of respiratory and cardiac patients
• Unit-specific orientation provided
• Dress code requires royal blue scrubs
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for travel rate
• Local candidates are not accepted for this position
• Travelers who previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying
• Travelers cannot work within the WVU system for longer than a cumulative year without taking a 2-year break
