American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a float pool position requiring a CA RN license, BSN, and 2.5 years of recent TCU/Stepdown/PCU experience.

Details

• Float pool position, not unit-based, requiring flexibility to float to other UCSF facilities and units
• Day/Night rotating shift, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:30 or 19:00-7:30)
• Weekends as needed with shifts rotated within a 4-week schedule cycle
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• May be assigned to ED for boarded patients or task assistance, and to PACU for boarded patients
• Uses Epic charting system
• May be reassigned to a different department, unit, or facility within a 75+ mile radius at any time during the assignment

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BSN required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2.5 years of recent TCU/Stepdown/PCU and telemetry RN experience required, with consistent home-unit assignment (float experience not sufficient)
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Completed travel assignment within the past 12 months required
• Experience caring for acute care patients recovered from procedures (e.g., biopsies) preferred
• 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration

Additional Information

• Care for adult stepdown/PCU and telemetry patients across a variety of nursing areas
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with dates worked, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
• All RTO must be disclosed and approved by the manager at time of offer; no additional RTO requests accepted mid-contract and none allowed within the first two weeks of the assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
• Travel pairs allowed but generally not placed on the same unit, and married couples may not work on the same unit
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
