American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVOR Registered Nurse with strong cardiovascular and vascular surgical skills for a high-acuity teaching hospital.

Details

• Work in a CVOR and hybrid OR suite performing complex cardiac, vascular, and transplant procedures
• Day shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• On-call requirement: 24-hour on-call one weekend per month (Sat/Sun) and an 8-hour on-call shift on two weekdays (3-11 or 11-7)
• Floating required to Main OR for Ortho, General, Laparoscopic, GYN, Robotic, Ortho/Neuro, Vascular, and Pediatric surgery cases
• Uses Epic for charting
• Must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit needs

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2.5 years of RN experience required
• CVOR experience with hybrid room circulating required, scrubbing preferred
• Experience with transplant cases required; cardiac, lung, and/or kidney transplant experience highly preferred
• Experience with cardiovascular procedures including valve replacement, CABG, TAVR, aortic aneurysm repair, dissection, and VATs
• Experience with vascular procedures including endovascular AAA, carotid endarterectomy, arteriogram, angiogram, TCAR, AV fistula, and femoral popliteal bypass graft
• Epic EMR experience required
• Two current professional references required

• Provide circulating and scrub support for high-acuity, high-volume cardiovascular and vascular surgical cases in a hybrid OR setting
• Work alongside a highly specialized multidisciplinary surgical team utilizing advanced technology
• Facility is a quaternary teaching hospital with an established heart transplant program
• Hospital-provided scrubs
• Float assignments are based on skillset with patient ratios determined by census and acuity
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• Previous RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the health system for at least one year to be eligible for travel assignments
• Priority given to candidates whose requested time off involves fewer than 7 days and no holidays
• Schedule and time-off requests must be confirmed prior to offer and cannot be changed once onsite
