American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring WA or compact RN license, 2 years of L&D experience, and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
• Facility performs 200-300 births per month, including high risk antepartum and deliveries
• Patient population includes labor and preterm labor cases, low risk antepartum, and couplet care
• Staffing ratio of 1:1 to 1:3
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Float requirement to Post-Partum, and possibly L&D at a sister facility
• Teaching hospital setting

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
• ACLS certification preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy, blood/blood product administration, central line maintenance, and medication administration (anticoagulants, antihypertensives, insulin, magnesium sulfate)
• Experience with high risk delivery assistance, C-section circulating and recovery, and sterile vaginal exams
• Experience with epidural anesthesia, pain assessment, and PCA pump use
• Experience with fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, and antepartum/postpartum care
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include circulating for OB-GYN and GYN surgeries, pre-op and post-op care, and scrubbing in for procedures
• Attends all deliveries including high risk deliveries
• Provides care for low risk antepartum and transition nursery patients
• Great staff camaraderie with book clubs and group dinners on a beautiful campus
• Up to 2 major holidays off requested, but must work 1 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, or New Year's/New Year's Eve)
• First-time travelers accepted with minimum 2 years of experience
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Radius rule of 50 miles applies for candidates who have previously worked at the facility on a permanent basis
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
• Only 1 active submission to a Providence facility permitted at a time
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront and are subject to approval; post-submission RTO changes may not be accommodated
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
