American Traveler is hiring a Wound Care RN for an acute care teaching hospital, requiring MN RN licensure, WOCN certification, and 1 year of wound care experience.

• Acute care teaching hospital, Level 3 trauma center
• Wound Care unit assignment
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• No weekend requirements
• No on-call requirements
• No floating required within scope
• Open to accommodating block scheduling
• Epic (Excellian) EMR used

Requirements

• Active or pending MN RN license required
• BLS and WOCN certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of wound care experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in wound treatments including alginates, hydrocolloids, hydrogels, foams, silver products, and wound vac therapy
• Experience with ostomy/colostomy management and equipment selection
• Experience with pressure, venous, arterial, and neuropathic ulcer assessment and management
• Knowledge of Braden scale and other risk assessment tools
• Experience with G-tube/J-tube feeding and site care
• Strong infection control and isolation precaution practices
• 1 supervisor reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive wound, ostomy, and skin integrity care across hospital and clinic settings
• Perform wound cultures, debridement support, and dressing changes
• Assess and manage pressure ulcers through all stages (I-IV)
• Educate patients and families on wound and ostomy care
• May float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed
• Navy blue scrub color required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be considered
• Returning staff must have a 3-month gap since last worked as perm staff or per diem
• RTO should ideally not exceed 5 days during the assignment
