American Traveler is hiring an experienced Endoscopy RN with 3+ years of GI/Endoscopy experience and required pediatric bronchoscopy skills for a hospital assignment requiring IN or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Endoscopy unit within a short-term acute care hospital
• Handles Upper & Lower GI, Bronchoscopy, EBUS, and Pain Management procedures
• High volume of both pediatric (0 months-18 years) and adult patients, with pediatric cases scheduled Monday through Thursday
• 1:1 patient ratio providing pre/post and intraprocedural care
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM-7:00 PM
• Block scheduling available for 3 consecutive days of candidate's choice, Monday-Friday
• On-call required: one Monday-Thursday shift (1700-0530) weekly and one weekend (Friday 1700-Monday 0530) every 6 weeks
• Required to float within scope to PACU as needed
• Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license required and must be in hand prior to start
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• Minimum 3 years of ENDO experience required
• Pediatric, Cerner, and Bronchoscopy experience required within the last 2 years
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Provation experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in administering and monitoring conscious sedation
• Experience with specimen handling/labeling preferred
• Proficient with equipment including balloon dilators, bronchoscopy cart, electrosurgical units, ERBE, forceps, and polyp snares
• Experience with procedures including Bronchoscopy, Colonoscopy, EGD, EBUS, EUS, and ERCP preferred
• Skilled in obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience administering opioid analgesics and recovering patients from conscious sedation and monitored anesthesia care
• 2 supervisor references required
• RN's university must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation

• Provide direct pre/post and intraprocedural care for pediatric and adult endoscopy patients
• Tuesdays are typically lighter volume days

• RTO of 5 days or less can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval

• Any current or former IU Health perm/PRN employee must be separated for 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Current or past IU Health travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment must take a designated break to reset eligibility
