American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown unit position requiring recent bedside experience and vasopressor titration skills on night shift.

Details

• Acute care hospital Step Down unit
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Weekend requirement of 2 shifts every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Float to lower acuity floors within scope as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Must have worked at the bedside within the last 6 months
• ICU or high acuity stepdown experience required due to high unit acuity
• Recent travel experience within the last 6 months required
• Skilled in titrating vasopressors, sedation medications, and insulin drips
• Experience managing trach vents, arterial lines, external pacemakers, and chest tubes
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Care for high-acuity stepdown patients including cardiac, neuro, renal, and post-surgical cases
• Manage advanced interventions such as vasopressor titration, ventilator care, and chest tube management
• Navy scrub color required
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
• Standard travelers may stay for an 18-month period and must take a 3-month break afterward
• No RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
