American Traveler is hiring a Home Health RN with required OASIS and HCHB EMR experience to serve geriatric patients in the Newport News/Suffolk area.

Details

• Home Health setting serving an adult geriatric patient population
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Average caseload of 5-7 patients per day
• On-call required on a rotating basis, approximately once during the contract
• Weekend rotation required, approximately once during the contract
• Territory covers either Suffolk/Portsmouth or Newport News/Hampton (Peninsula) area
• Provides care including wound care, medication administration/management, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and pain assessment

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA or Compact) required in-hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Home Health experience required
• OASIS experience required for completing Start of Care (SOC) assessments
• Proficiency in HCHB (Homecare Homebase) EMR required
• Valid driver's license and personal transportation required
• Skilled in wound care, medication administration, IV starts/maintenance, and phlebotomy

Additional Information

• Timely and accurate communication and documentation required
• Scrubs required in any color; jeans not permitted
• iPad provided for use; personal cell phone use not permitted
• Mileage reimbursed at the IRS standard rate
• Monday orientation includes completion of required training modules
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
• Travel pairs accepted, though each traveler is assigned to their own territory and must have their own transportation
• Former permanent employees must have a minimum 6-month separation and HR approval before returning as a traveler
• Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application
