Description

American Traveler is hiring a Nurse Coordinator RN with oncology experience for an ambulatory cancer center, requiring an active MA RN license and 2+ years of oncology experience.

Details

• Ambulatory oncology setting supporting medical oncology physicians and nurse practitioners
• Coordinates patient care, treatment initiation, and specialty evaluations for cancer patients
• Performs telephone triage, script renewal coordination, and imaging follow up
• Provides patient education and symptom management support
• Monday through Friday day shift, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
• 40 hours per week over a 13-week assignment
• No floating or charge responsibilities required
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required at time of consideration
• 2+ years of oncology experience required
• HemOnc clinic RN experience preferred
• Experience making VNA/Hospice/DME referrals required
• Experience coordinating referrals to other specialists required
• Experience setting up imaging and IR procedures required
• Experience obtaining authorization for specialty oral chemotherapy drugs required
• Strong phone triage skills required
• Strong communication and organizational skills required
• Proficient computer and telephone triage skills required

• Works closely with MD/NP team to coordinate patient care and improve patient experience
• Serves as primary point of contact for patients prior to starting chemotherapy

• Must complete Tele/ECG and Medication pass/fail testing

• Previous BIDMC or Beth Israel Lahey Health employees (travel, perm, or per diem) must have a 6-month break before returning
