American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Neuro RN for a comprehensive stroke center night shift position requiring OK or compact RN licensure and at least one year of experience.

Details

• Comprehensive stroke center on a combined Stroke, Neuro, Ortho, and Spine unit
• Patient ratios of 3:1 for stroke unit patients and 5:1 for all other patients
• Night shift schedule of 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week, 48 hours weekly
• May be required to precept and possibly work in a virtual nursing room

Requirements

• Active OK or multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required, BSN preferred
• Stroke experience and NIHSS certification preferred

Additional Information

• Provides nursing care to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex
• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, administers medications, and monitors physiological data
• Initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
• Communicates care plans with patients and families and coordinates discharge planning
• Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
• Facility maintains strict compliance deadlines and does not allow push starts
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Returning workers may extend only once for a total of 26 weeks, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
