American Traveler is hiring a Behavioral Health RN for an inpatient psychiatric unit requiring MA RN licensure and prior inpatient psych experience for a night shift assignment.

Details

• Inpatient behavioral health hospital setting with adult, geriatric, and pediatric (ages 5-17) units
• 104 beds across five units, including two 24-bed adult units, 24-bed geriatric unit, and 12-bed pediatric unit
• Patient ratios of 1:8 variable, with lower ratios for geriatric and pediatric units
• Common diagnoses include schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, and anxiety
• Shift is 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend
• Floating required
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Cerner EMR

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• BLS certification required
• AHA certifications required
• HWC certification required
• ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting required
• Graduate of an accredited BSN, ADN, or nursing diploma program
• Must be willing to work with both adult and pediatric patient populations
• Social security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct and indirect patient care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Develop nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff
• Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians, nursing supervisors, and coworkers
• Participate in the discharge planning process
• Blue scrub color required
• Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full time
