American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift contract requiring a TX or compact RN license and critical care emergency department experience.

Details

• Emergency Department setting providing critical care to adult and pediatric patients
• 26-week contract assignment
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• ER patient ratio of 4:1
• Weekend rotation required
• No block scheduling available
• Cerner charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required (pending TX license accepted)
• Minimum 1 year hospital-based acute care experience required, 2 years preferred
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required prior to start
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP management, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, vasopressors, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Neurological care experience including CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain injury
• Experience managing shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
• Cardiac monitoring skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Triage and isolation precaution/PPE skills required
• Ortho trauma experience
• One supervisory reference required
• Disclosure of any prior legal action required at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Care for a high Spanish-speaking patient population, with translator staff available for support
• Facility is a Level I and Level II Trauma Center, STEMI certified, and Stroke certified
• One holiday RTO request may be submitted for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's coverage periods
• Approved RTO must be included in both initial submission and confirmation documents
• Completion of approximately 4-8 hours of pre-start facility training modules required
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at the local bill rate
