American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity Surgical ICU position requiring transplant experience and a Louisiana or Compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a high-acuity Surgical ICU / Transplant ICU setting
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Float requirement to other ICUs and step-down units
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 or 4x12 hour options (6:45 AM to 7:15 PM)
• Provide post-op care for surgical, cardiac, and transplant recovery patients including liver, heart, lung, kidney, and pancreas transplants
• CVICU responsibilities include caring for post-op CABG, valve replacement/repair, aortic dissection, IABP, and PA catheter patients
• Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) required
• Epic EMR experience required
• No call-in shifts required

Requirements

• Active RN license (Louisiana state or Compact) required in hand at time of submission
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in specialty required
• Required transplant experience: liver, heart, lung, or kidney/pancreas
• Experience with Post Cardiac Surgery care directly from the OR required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Preferred experience with PA catheters and balloon pumps
• Up-to-date NURSYS report required, within 4 weeks of submission

Additional Information

• Manage arterial lines, central lines, ventilators, and continuous IV sedation and vasoactive drips as part of daily responsibilities
• May be assigned to an Emergency Team during declared emergency events, requiring extended stay at the facility until relieved
• Orientation is held 5 days per week
• Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• RTO must be finalized and disclosed prior to interview to avoid offer complications
• No block scheduling requests will be accommodated
• Previous Ochsner Health employees must have a full year of separation before returning as a travel contractor
