American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN for a 13-week assignment requiring at least 2 years of relevant nursing experience and ACLS certification.

Details

• Work in the Surgery Recovery Room (PACU) providing post-anesthesia care
• Day shift schedule from 08:00 to 17:00
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact) required
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• ACLS certification typically required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• PACU, ICU, critical-care, ED, or perioperative nursing experience preferred
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program, BSN preferred
• PALS certification preferred for pediatric patient care
• CPAN or CAPA certification preferred
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Provide specialized nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical and diagnostic procedures
• Closely monitor patients during the immediate post-anesthesia period, manage pain and nausea, and identify complications
• Coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team
• Serve as primary coordinator across disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
• Requires strong assessment, critical-thinking, and emergency-response skills
• Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced, stressful environment
• COVID-19 vaccination not required
• Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate depending on facility location
