Description

American Traveler is hiring a Nights RN for a Labor & Delivery/LDRP position requiring 2 years of LDRP experience, an active KS or compact RN license, and the ability to float across L&D, PP, and Mother/Baby units.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting on a Trauma Level 3 LDRP unit combining L&D, Postpartum, and Mother/Baby care
• 12 LDRP rooms, 1 OR suite for C-sections, and 1 triage bed
• Average of 1.5 births per day and 50-60 births per month
• Unit follows AWHONN staffing ratio guidelines
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, working every other weekend
• Required to float between L&D, PP, and MB/Baby units, with additional helping hands support to other units as needed
• On-call/standby requirements apply per hospital policy
• Charge nurse typically carries a patient assignment
• 1 surgical tech supports the unit; no adult telemetry monitoring but fetal monitoring is required using GE and OBIX EFM systems
• OB/Neonatologist and Anesthesia providers are not in-house 24/7
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active KS or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• LDRP experience with couplet care required
• Circulating in OR required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
• Must be able to titrate drips, including pitocin
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care across Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Mother/Baby units
• Assist other units as needed through helping hands support
• Any professional-colored scrubs permitted
• No holiday coverage requirement
• Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility
• A float radius policy applies, and travelers are responsible for securing housing that allows them to meet float zone requirements
• Candidates may not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity affiliated facility within the past year, though PRN employment through outside firms will be considered
• Clinicians must be in-state for orientation week, even if first-day modules are completed remotely
