American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department Holding position on night shift, requiring 2 years of ER or MS/Tele experience.

Details

• Emergency Department Holding unit within a hospital setting
• Cares for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Night shift schedule, three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00-07:00), 36 hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Epic charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of ER, ER Holding, or MS/Tele nursing experience required
• Experience with MS/Tele, Tele, or PCU/Stepdown also acceptable
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and line management preferred
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP and ventilator management preferred
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management skills preferred
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second from a Charge RN or higher; no coworker references accepted

• Provide emergency and holding-area nursing care across a diverse patient population

• Locals are accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
• Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of the health system are ineligible for travel assignments at any of its hospital locations
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract due to strict compliance timelines
