American Traveler is hiring an RN Nurse Lead for a trauma-level Medical ICU, requiring supervisory experience and TNCC certification.

Details

• Medical ICU unit within a trauma level acute care hospital
• Day shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, based on department needs
• No on-call requirements
• Leadership role including administrative duties as unit Nurse Lead

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BLS (AHA or ARC) required
• ACLS (AHA or ARC) required
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification required
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience required
• Master's degree preferred
• Minimum 3 years of ICU specialty experience required
• Demonstrated supervisory experience or skills required
• Recent experience within the last 3 months in the specialty required
• Cerner or EPIC EMR experience must be documented in employment history
• Clinical specialty or nursing administration certification preferred

Additional Information

• Provide unit-based leadership in collaboration with the Nurse Manager, Director, physicians, and staff
• Supervise and direct nursing and ancillary personnel using professional and supervisory judgment
• Ensure cost-effective, high-quality patient care and positive outcomes with a strong focus on patient safety
• Participate in patient care as needed and conduct rounds to assess care needs and introduce self to patients and families
• Foster a culturally sensitive, patient and family-centered care environment
• Coordinate care conferences with health team members, patients, and families to revise care plans
• Develop strategies with leadership to improve patient, family, and physician satisfaction
• Candidates with more than 5 days of requested time off (RTO) will be automatically declined
• Candidates with a prior disciplinary action on their license will not be considered
• No radius restriction, with local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
• Two supervisory references required, one from the past year and one from the past two years
