American Traveler is seeking a Critical Care Float RN with a PA or compact license and at least two years of CVICU/ICU experience at a Level I trauma teaching hospital.

Details

• Critical Care Float Pool position within a Level I trauma teaching hospital
• Adult patient population with ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:3
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Floating required across critical care units
• No on-call responsibilities
• EPIC charting system required

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA state or Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years CVICU experience required
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience required from a large teaching facility (LTACH and critical access hospital experience not accepted)
• Trauma Level I facility experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Strong ICU skills required including IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory/thoracic care required
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips required
• Critical Care Float Pool experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing support across multiple ICU units as part of a float pool team
• Care for critically ill adult patients requiring advanced monitoring and interventions
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius, with local candidates accepted at a different pay rate
• RTO must be submitted and approved prior to consideration, with no additional time off accommodated after submission
• PA fingerprinting is required and must be completed within one week of signing, which may involve travel exceeding 100 miles
• Lab work must be completed within 48 hours of signing
• A pass/fail clinical exam is required for consideration, with a maximum of three attempts allowed
• First-time travelers may be considered given strong ICU skills
