American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring fresh open heart surgical patient experience and an active NJ or Compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of a hospital setting
• 13-week assignment with day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:15
• 35.25 hours per week with every other weekend required
• Patient ratios are 1:2, adjustable to 1:3 based on acuity, with fresh cardiac open heart patients cared for at a 1:1 ratio
• Floating required to CCU, CTICU, ICU, and/or stepdown units within skillset
• EPIC charting system used

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and Stroke CEU certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, including fresh heart surgical patient experience
• Experience with CABG, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Impella, TAVR, and valve replacement required
• Skilled in post cardiac surgery care both directly from the OR and outside the OR
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response required
• Genitourinary/renal and CRRT/CVVHD experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct care to fresh cardiac open heart patients including CABG, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, and mechanical circulatory support devices
• Royal blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Previous RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have a minimum 1-year break from the health system before being eligible for travel assignments
