Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for an Ortho/Trauma unit position requiring ortho and telemetry experience at a Level 1 Trauma and Comprehensive Stroke Center.

Details

• 23-bed Ortho/Trauma unit within a hospital setting
• Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
• Cares for post-op knee, hip, and shoulder replacement patients, trauma patients, and some neuro overflow cases
• Uses traction, fixators, and cooling equipment
• Charts using the Meditech documentation system
• Support staff includes unit secretaries and PCTs
• Schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts with three weekend shifts per schedule period
• Shift hours run from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Contract labor floats first, potentially to other Med/Surg level units such as General MS, Nephrology, or Neuro/Trauma

Requirements

• Active RN license (Missouri or Compact) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Ortho experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• NIH Stroke Certification helpful for this unit
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Two professional references required for Missouri assignments
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Perform bedside shift report and hourly rounding as part of patient experience standards
• Facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center
• Navy scrubs required as part of the dress code
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
