Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a Med-Surg/Tele unit requiring 2 years of acute care RN experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit with 24 beds and a 6:1 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule from 6:45pm-7:15am, three 12-hour shifts per week, every other weekend required
• Mixed diagnosis patient population
• Uses Epic EMR
• Support staff includes CRN, discharge nurse, and weekday pharmacists
• RN reads telemetry but does not perform titration
• Equipment used includes IV/PCA pumps, wound vac, and glucometer
• Skills needed include trach care, feeding tubes, CPAP, wound vac, and dialysis assessment

Requirements

• Active RN license (IN or Compact) required
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required

Additional Information

• Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Provides patient and family education specific to care needs and discharge planning
• Mentors and precepts staff while delegating tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel
• Participates in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives
