Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Cardiac unit requiring 2+ years of recent Med/Surg experience in a large hospital setting and an active ND or Compact RN license.

Details

• medical center in an acute care setting with Level 1 trauma designation
• Assigned to the 6CD Med Surg Cardiac unit, a 32-bed unit
• Nurse to patient ratio of 4-5:1 on day shift and 5-6:1 on night shift
• 12-hour night shifts, weekends only (Fri, Sat, Sun)
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Schedule cycles may rotate between days and nights based on unit needs
• Self-scheduling available, though shifts may be adjusted to balance unit staffing needs
• Required to float to any Med/Surg unit at any of the 3 Sanford Medical Centers in Fargo
• Uses Epic EMR, Omnicell, and Alaris IV pumps

Requirements

• Active ND or Compact RN license required (or willingness to obtain)
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• NIHSS certification required or must obtain prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience in a large hospital setting (250+ beds)
• Cardiac experience highly preferred but not required
• Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

• Perform patient assessments, documentation, nursing tasks, and medication administration
• Must be willing to float to all units/locations within Fargo as needed
• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Cannot accept candidates living within 60 miles of the facility
• Local candidates living 60-80 miles from the facility are accepted at a reduced rate
• Candidates with prior employment at this health system must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission
