American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RN with critical care experience for a night shift assignment at a Magnet-recognized children's hospital requiring floating to PICU and NICU.

• Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position within a Magnet-recognized children's hospital
• Floats to PICU and NICU units
• Patient population spans acute, intermediate, oncology, neonatal, and critical care needs
• PICU provides critical care to all pediatric patients in the region
• NICU cares for preterm neonates in critical condition and infants needing feed-and-grow support
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 19:00-07:30
• Patient ratio of 1-2:4
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (OR license required)
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior critical care experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, tracheostomy care, ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, insulin administration, isolation precautions/PPE, medication administration including emergency medications, pediatric dosage calculations, and urinary catheter insertion/management
• Experience with ICP monitoring preferred
• Experience with dysrhythmia management preferred
• COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted

Additional Information

• Provides direct patient care across various pediatric units based on daily float assignments
• Care settings may include Pediatric Acute Care Surgical, Pediatric Acute Care Medical, Pediatric Intermediate Care, Pediatric Oncology, PICU, and NICU
• Refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
• No mileage radius requirement; local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Returning staff must have a gap of at least 6 months since their last assignment to be eligible
• Requested time off must be submitted upfront and cannot exceed 2 weeks
• Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months are required; charge RN references are not accepted
• Former OHSU employees or previous travelers must provide a reference from their prior OHSU supervisor
