American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac/PCU Stepdown position requiring MI licensure, 1+ years of PCU/stepdown experience, and telemetry monitoring skills.

Details

• 225-bed specialty care hospital with a Level 2 trauma designation
• Cardiac IMCU unit within Medical Surgical Telemetry department
• 36-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:5-6 for cardiac patients and 1:3-4 for PCU/stepdown patients
• Cardiac and stepdown patient population including chest pain, VATS, stroke/TIA, pre and post open heart surgery, pacemakers, heart blocks, vascular issues, and CHF
• Uses telemetry monitoring equipment and Cerner EHR
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Call required only during low census periods
• Floating required

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications required)
• Minimum 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience required
• Experience with cardiac patient populations, chest tubes, cardiac monitoring, and cardiac drips required
• PCU/Stepdown patient population experience and low-level ICU skills preferred
• Associate degree required
• Active Nursys licensure verification required at time of consideration
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to cardiac and stepdown patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Strong teamwork skills required to succeed in this collaborative unit
• Scrub color requirement: blue or navy, with no blue jeans permitted
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for travel pay rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full time
