American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for an Observation Unit position, no experience required, with an active IN or compact RN license.

Details

• 32-bed Observation Unit affiliated with the Emergency Department for patients expected to stay less than 24 hours
• Patient mix includes chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, heart catheterizations, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, UTIs, and DVTs
• Provider on-site daily from 7a-5p
• 3rd shift schedule, 7p-7a
• 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
• 0.9 FTE position

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (IN or compact) required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior experience required
• Proficiency in medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, and use of medical equipment
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and patient families

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document according to scope of practice and hospital policy
• Coordinate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and case management coordination
• Deliver individualized, patient- and family-centered care and education
• Set priorities for care of multiple patients based on acuity and delegate tasks appropriately to team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
• Promote a positive, healing environment through evidence-based nursing practice
