American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Operating Room position requiring 2 years of Level 1 Trauma OR experience and strong neuro/ortho spine and craniotomy skills.

Details

• Level 1 Trauma hospital Operating Room setting on the Neuro team
• 28-room OR handling 75-90 cases per day
• Complex neuro/ortho spine and craniotomy caseload including simple to complex multi-level spine fusions, deformity correction, spine tumors, complex cranial tumors, neurovascular, and neuro trauma cases
• Uses Epic EMR
• Day shift schedule with a mix of 2x8-hour (0700-1530) and 2x12-hour (0700-1930) shifts that vary with no set schedule
• Will rotate to night shifts (8-hour shifts)
• Weekday call shifts scheduled 2330-0700 (2 shifts per week)
• Weekend call shifts scheduled 0700-1930 or 1900-0730 (3 shifts per weekend)
• Call response time of 45 minutes required
• May be called in to support multiple trauma cases as part of the neuro/crani call team
• Floating to other service lines within the Tower OR as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA or Compact) currently in hand
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience in a Level 1 Trauma setting
• Strong neuro/ortho spine and craniotomy experience required
• RN scrubbing skills and experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care to complex neurosurgical and spine patients
• Part of a dedicated Neuro OR team supporting trauma cases as needed
• Holiday coverage required for 1 major and 1 minor holiday (call shift only), depending on contract timing
