American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 13-week contract requiring 1 year of Med/Surg and Stepdown experience along with a prior travel assignment.

Details

• Work in the Medicine Specialty Unit of a hospital setting
• Care for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Day shift schedule of 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week, totaling 48 hours weekly
• 13-week contract assignment
• Level one trauma experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Med/Surg and Stepdown experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Additional Information

• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and treatments
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Obtain and monitor physiological data, observing and intervening as needed
• Administer medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products
• Communicate care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
• Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• Returning travelers may extend a contract one time for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
• Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as this facility strictly enforces compliance deadlines and does not allow push starts
