American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Ortho/Trauma night shift position requiring compact or Oklahoma RN licensure and prior Med/Surg experience.

Details

• Hospital-based Ortho/Trauma Med/Surg unit
• Cares for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours weekly)
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Surgical/Med-Surg (SD, MS) experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills required

Additional Information

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents nursing interventions and treatment responses
• Assists physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Administers prescribed medications and monitors IV infusions and blood products
• Communicates with patients and families regarding care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning
• Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for consideration
• Local candidates will not be considered
• Returning travelers may only extend a contract once for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
• Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates cannot be pushed once booked
