American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Hematology/Oncology RN for a 13-week night shift position requiring APHON Chemotherapy certification and Level I trauma experience.

Details

• Hospital-based position in the Pediatric Hem Onc unit
• Cares for pediatric patients with a range of health conditions from simple to complex
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts per week
• 36 hours per week over a 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact eNLC)
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Current PALS certification (AHA)
• Current APHON Chemotherapy certification
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Minimum of 6 months of Level I trauma experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred
• Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, and procedures
• Good verbal and written communication skills

Additional Information

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents responses to nursing interventions and treatments
• Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Monitors physiological data and intervenes as needed
• Administers prescribed medications and initiates/monitors IV infusions and blood products
• Communicates care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• Travelers may extend one time for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation is required before reapplying after reaching this limit
• Facility maintains strict compliance deadlines and will not accommodate delayed start dates
• Onboarding requirements including drug screens and background checks must begin immediately upon offer
