American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neurology unit position requiring an OK or compact RN license and prior nursing experience on a comprehensive stroke center floor.

Details

• Work on a Neurosciences unit within a hospital setting
• Comprehensive stroke center caring for stroke, ortho, and spine patients
• Patient ratios of 3:1 for stroke/dedicated patients and 5:1 for all other patients
• Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week, 48 hours weekly
• May be required to precept and possibly work in a virtual nursing room

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required, BSN preferred
• Stroke experience and NIHSS certification preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
• Basic computer skills required

Additional Information

• Responsible for an assigned group of patients including assessment, care planning, and documentation
• Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Monitors patient physiological data and intervenes as needed
• Administers medications and initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
• Communicates care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• Travelers may extend once for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
• Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates cannot be pushed once booked
