American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a Perinatal Float Pool position requiring 2 years of combined L&D and Postpartum experience and cross-training across three perinatal units.

• Perinatal Float Pool position requiring rotation among L&D, Postpartum, and LDRP units
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
• Must be available to work one additional overtime shift per two weeks (7 shifts total) based on unit needs
• Manager will provide minimum two weeks' notice for schedule changes
• May float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals based on census and unit requirements
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• 2 years of combined L&D and Postpartum experience with demonstrated competency in both areas (hard requirement)
• Minimum one year of experience in an acute care setting
• At least one year full-time equivalent experience in specialty area within the preceding two years
• Required certifications: ACLS, Advanced NRP (hard requirement), BLS, NRP
• Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, BSN
• Skills in fetal monitoring, high-risk delivery assistance, C-section circulating/scrubbing, and management of high-risk OB conditions (preeclampsia, HELLP, placenta previa, PPH, etc.)
• Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Two manager/supervisory references required, including at least one from the specific unit within the past year
• Full 7-year work history with all employment gaps explained

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive perinatal nursing care across antepartum, L&D, postpartum, and newborn care areas
• Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, including circulating and scrubbing duties
• Manage high-risk obstetric conditions and neonatal care in the delivery room
• Perform newborn assessments, discharge teaching, and lactation support
• No RTO permitted in the first 3 weeks of assignment
• Screening required for first-time travelers
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Previous UCSD employees must be gone at least 1 year before returning as a traveler and require prior approval
