Y RN opportunity on a Med/Surg Tele unit requrequiring at least 1 year of nursing experience and a compact/TX RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a Short Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma Center hospital
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4
• Weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Floating between units required
• No on-call responsibilities
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
• Experience with a 1:4 patient ratio required
• Prior experience in any charting system required, Epic experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Experience with telemetry, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management preferred
• Experience with neurological conditions such as CVA, craniotomy, intracranial bleeds, and post-TPA care preferred
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Perform IV therapy, peripheral line management, and respiratory care including oxygen administration
• Manage neurological and neurosurgical patients including pre/post craniotomy and seizure disorder care
• Utilize isolation precautions and PPE as needed
• Participate in Rapid Response/Code team activities
• Dress code requires solid navy blue uniforms or scrubs for licensed nursing personnel
• Free parking available in designated employee/visitor lots

• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process, with minimal flexibility once the contract begins
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles away to qualify for travel pay rate; local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the region
