American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown/Telemetry Neuro position requiring a CA RN license and at least two years of stepdown or telemetry experience.

Details

• 13-week assignment in a combination Stepdown/Telemetry Neuro unit
• Acute care patient population with ratios between 1:3 and 1:5
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Every other weekend required
• On-call as needed
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Stepdown or Telemetry unit
• Community hospital experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, central line and PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care
• Neurological care experience including craniotomy, CVA, intracranial bleeds, seizure disorders, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and rapid response/code team protocols
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide care to a combined caseload of Stepdown and Telemetry Neuro patients
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed for patient emergencies
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to be eligible for the local rate
• Local candidates accepted at the local rate
• Returning employees must have a one-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only one holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
