American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU Float position requiring a TX or compact RN license, prior travel nursing experience, and telemetry/step-down skills.

Details

• PCU Float role primarily supporting the Med Surg unit with floating required
• Day shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12 hours, 7:00-19:00)
• 84 hours biweekly with a 72-hour guarantee on a 36/48 alternating schedule; straight 48s may be considered
• Weekend work required, potentially most weekends during the contract
• Block scheduling may be accommodated, but set schedules cannot be guaranteed
• Typical patient ratio of 1:5
• Epic EMR experience strongly preferred

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience managing respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high-flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response protocols
• Experience with insulin drip titration and IV insulin protocols
• Experience caring for cardiac, renal, neurological, and post-surgical patient populations

Additional Information

• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for a positive result
• Candidates must avoid substances that could cause a positive drug screen, including CBD products, prior to arrival
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• RTO requests must be submitted at the time of application
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting the offer or have a clear plan for timely completion
• All required documents must be submitted at least 3 business days prior to the start date
• First-time travelers may be considered if minimum experience and certification requirements are met
