American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Long Term Care / Extended Care unit requiring an active MT or compact RN license and BLS certification for a night shift assignment.

• Long Term Care / Extended Care unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active RN license (MT state or compact) required, with no pending license allowed
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA), not expiring prior to start
• ASN required, graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
• 1 year of experience in Long Term Care/Extended Care nursing required
• Must be able to read and write at a level to fulfill documentation requirements
• Physical demands include lifting objects over 100 lbs, with frequent lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, pushing/pulling 100+ lbs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
• Must provide date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN for consideration

Additional Information

• Complete holistic, age-specific admission histories, physical assessments, and nursing plans of care for assigned residents
• Analyze clinical data such as labs, x-rays, and diagnostics to formulate individualized care plans
• Identify and document residents at risk for nutritional and functional decline
• Recognize and report signs of neglect or abuse
• Collaborate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams to set daily care priorities
• Delegate tasks to team members based on resident needs and staff competency
• Communicate with physicians to coordinate medical and nursing care plans
• Administer medications and IVs per scope of practice and facility policy
• Manage urgent or emergent resident care situations
• Document nursing interventions, resident responses, and outcomes, and revise care plans as needed
• Provide resident and family education and coordinate discharge planning
• Maintain working knowledge of CMS regulations and Medicare skilled/MDS criteria to ensure compliant documentation
• Supervise, coach, and evaluate performance of assigned CNA staff
• Permanent staff must be separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before being eligible for this travel assignment
• Allow at least 2 weeks for background check and drug screen results using a specific vendor, with firm documentation deadlines that may affect start dates
