American Traveler is hiring a PCU RN for a night shift flex pool position requiring an active AZ or compact RN license and cardiac drip management experience.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) flex pool position in a short-term acute care teaching hospital with Level I trauma designation
• Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 1900-0700
• Patient ratios of 3-4:1
• Weekend shifts required as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to MS Tele units (Humphrey, 3 North, 3 West, Kendrick, 2 East) and the Cardiac Monitoring Room
• Uses Cerner EMR for charting
• RNs may wear any scrub color
• Facility has a Vascular Access Team (VAT) to assist with difficult IVs

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted AZ RN license or valid participating compact license required (pending compact accepted)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Experience managing cardiac drips (excluding vasopressors) required
• Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Must be able to read and interpret own telemetry strips

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a PCU/telemetry setting, including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Must be comfortable floating without restrictions to other units or nearby affiliate hospitals based on skills and census needs
• Adhere to facility medication administration and patient safety standards, including BCMA protocols
• RTO requests require unit manager approval
• No RTO permitted during the first week of assignment due to orientation
• Must be available to work 2 of the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day weekend, Independence Day weekend, Thanksgiving Day, or Christmas Day
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Previous employees of this health system must have been separated for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
