American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) flex pool position requiring 2 years of PCU/telemetry experience and unrestricted floating.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within the Critical Care/MS Flex Pool at a short-term acute care teaching hospital with Level I trauma designation
• 3x12 or 4x12 night shifts, 19:00-07:00
• Patient ratios of 3-4:1
• Weekend shifts required as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Floats to MS Tele units (Humphrey, 3 North, 3 West, Kendrick & 2 East) and the Cardiac Monitoring Room
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Hospital has a Vascular Access Team (VAT) available for difficult IV access

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted AZ RN license or valid compact license required (may be submitted as pending)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required (3 years preferred)
• Required skills: management and interpretation of cardiac dysrhythmias, cardiac drip management (excluding vasopressors)
• Must be able to read and interpret own telemetry strips
• Comfortable floating without restrictions to other units or affiliate facilities based on census needs

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry monitoring and progressive care nursing to a cardiac and medical-surgical patient population
• Adhere to facility medication administration standards including Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA)
• RNs may wear any scrub color

• Time off requests require unit manager approval
• Must be available to work 2 of the facility's recognized holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day weekend, Independence Day weekend, Thanksgiving, Christmas)
• Previous Northern Arizona Healthcare perm, PRN, or EP staff must have been separated for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
• Travel pairs accepted for this unit
